Meet our Board of Directors

Rob Bonas

Rob is the current VRP President of the Board.  Rob oversees the day to day operation of the organization.  Rob is also our master chef.  When you come to one our event chances are you find him behind the grill.

James is the Director of Community engagement.  James is the Chief community organizer for VRP. James has been organizing  for a number of years and is one of the Chief architects of "Safe Park 2024" a first of its kind violence reduction coalition in South Los Angeles.

Cornelius Caesar

Cornelius is the Director of Youth Programing and Engagement. He dreams up new and exciting way to engage our youth with knowledge based programing.   Cornelius also puts his life on the line daily as a Community Violence Interrupter.

Michael Hall

Michael is the Director of Operator Adult Programming/Community Coordinator.  Micheal engages young people daily as one of the most trust "credible messengers" working in South Los Angeles communities

Brian Jointer

Askari Abdul-Muntaqim

Brian is the Director of Training and Professional Development.  Brain trains VRP staff in Tech support and Information systems.  Brian has extensive experience in grassroots organizing, community engagement and providing political education.

Askari Abdul-Muntaqim

Askari is Director of Program Development.  Askari has a passion for building competence and capacity in community members.  He uses his legal training to help free and keep free our community members who have been impacted by the criminal Justice system.

Robert Cooper

Robert is the Director of Community Operation.  Robert is tireless in his efforts to find logistical solution to building out programing spaces and making VRP events shine like Black Gold.  He is the youngest member of our team and invaluable in our Youth Outreach efforts.  He is an organizer and youth advocate  his own right and spend his days in the field.
